“Pursue the things you love doing and then do them so well that people can’t take their eyes off you” – Maya Angelou
Dear Readers and Non-Readers,
The literary world has always held a special place in my heart.
If you knew The Black Book Blog from when it first started, then you know how passionate I am about reading Black authors. As the year has progressed, I’ve realised my core values have changed, and whilst, I’ll always provide a platform to Black authors. I want to reflect how incredibly important is to have a diverse bookshelf, from authors all over the world and from all sorts of backgrounds.
Therefore, my sole aim with this blog is to encourage you all to diversify your bookshelf and give a voice to books that promote individuality of thought. Books about the Black experience will always continue to be promoted on this blog and I will never stop talking about them. However, please expect to see books from authors all over the world too.
How can I encourage diversity, if I, myself, do not show that I read diversely too?
From reviews, to tv-shows about books and to generally, all types of bookish content, you’ll find it all here. I am so excited to embark on this new journey with you all, starring all things bookish and diverse.
Love from,
The Black Book Blog x
