Welcome to Part 2 of my 2021 Round-Up Series and today we’re looking at bookish couples! Being that I love a good romance and it’s without a doubt my escapism genre – I’ve managed to put together my top 12 bookish couples.
So let’s get into it.
1.Quinn and Carter, Excuse Me While I Ugly Cry – Joya Goffney

I literally swooned reading about this couple. They were cute, sweet and without a doubt, my favourite couple this year. If Ms Goffney decided to write a book from Carter’s POV, I wouldn’t complain.
2. Eva and Shane, Seven Days in June – Tia Williams

Aside from the fact I’m in love with Shane Hall, I loved how Ms Williams portrayed this couple. This is a second-chance romance and wow, it truly gives you all the feels.
3. January and Augustus, Beach Read – Emily Henry

This is enemies to lovers and it truly did what it had to do. I know so many people prefer ‘People We Meet on Vacation’ by Ms Henry but this was my favourite. January and Augustus live in my head rent free
4. Mum and Mo, This Poison Heart – Kalynn Bayron

Now I know that Mum and Mo are technically side characters but I adored their relationship. They were funny, sweet and amazing parents to Briseis.
5. Chloe and Red, Get A Life, Chloe Brown – Talia Hibbert

This is such a controversial opinion when it comes to the Brown Sisters trilogy, but I actually loved Chloe and Red the most. Maybe I just adore the ‘enemies to lovers’ trope but I truly enjoyed seeing their relationship play out.
6. Canon and Neevah, Reel – Kennedy Ryan

I read this at the height of a fever…when I was suffering with COVID and didn’t know. This book was so good, I didn’t even realise how bad I was feeling until I finished it and my body felt like it was going to combust. Canon and Neevah were the cutest couple. I’m obsessed with them.
7. Michael and Stella, The Kiss Quotient – Helen Hoang

They were simply everything. The fake dating. Stella’s love for maths. I could go on about how much I loved this book. It was truly beautiful.
8. Olive and Ethan, The Unhoneymooners – Christina Lauren

This book is such a cute fun holiday read but honestly, the characters made me laugh. Olive and Ethan have an enemies to lovers romance that will make you giggle. Highly recommend it!
9. Tiffy and Leon, The Flat Share – Beth O’Leary

Although Leon is one of my favourite characters from this year, Tiffy and Leon’s relationship was just so sweet and healthy! Out of all the Beth O’Leary novels I’ve read this year, Tiffy and Leon have to be my favourite.
10. Cara and Dell, The Space Between Worlds – Micaiah Johnson

Cara and Dell aren’t even at the forefront of this novel. However, I became obsessed with their relationship. The ending in particular was very sweet!
11. David and Aycayia, The Mermaid of Black Conch – Monique Roffey

I just thought David was the perfect guy for Aycayia and was really torn by that ending. This is a short read so it’s plenty of time to fall in love with this couple quickly.
12. Hani and Ishu, Hani and Ishu’s Guide to Fake Dating – Adiba Jaigirdar

This is a very cute YA romance with the fake dating trope! I thought Ishu was so funny at times and Hani was the perfect balance for her.

And that concludes the end of my Top 12 Favourite Bookish Couples. This was so fun to do and I’ll probably carry it on in 2022.
